Volunteering on the farm

If you want to come and work on the farm we have two main options.

Happy Helpers: This is for people who want to come for a day and work with us to experience what it’s like. There are no major requirements other than a desire to work and learn. I try to bring several people together in smaller groups so we have a nice social time working together. The main criteria are an interest, a positive attitude and a willingness to work. Speaking English or Norwegian is important as there is little time for repeating myself or taking explaining things. I give an introduction to the day and we get to it in groups.

WWoofing: Word Wide Opportunities On Organic Farms is a great way to connect workers with organic farms. We have workers on the farm from April to September. Most of them come to us through our Wwoofing profile and stay on the farm for minimum 2 weeks (preferably a month or more). We prioritise those who want to learn about ecology and seed saving, who have educations in these subjects and want hands on experience, and who are willing to do the work required and speak either English or Norwegian fluently.

2023 will be a special year as we are just starting on Rolstad Farm and have a lot of work to do. We will be raising a new greenhouse in April and focusing on establishing the 5000 m2 vegetable and seed saving operation.

Send me an email at if you would like to volunteer.
